Dugdale Ltd has strengthened its technical team with the appointment of Angus Milborne.

Angus, 26, graduated with a Masters Degree in Chemistry from Hull University and since then has undertaken materials science and quality control roles in industry, most latterly for ImerPlast UK (formerly Regain Polymers).

At Imerplast UK, Angus trained as a polymer technologist and his work experiences to date have involved production planning and product management, finally heading the quality department. During this time he enjoyed both inter-departmental and customer contact in addition to working with a variety of polymers and formulation technologies. This led Angus to look more at a role in technical service within the polymer industry.

Dugdale Ltd Technical Director Dr. Jeff Ryan, says that ‘we are very pleased to have secured someone of Angus’s background and abilities. Many of Dugdale’s materials are highly innovative and complex. Indeed, our alloys share the stage with many grades of engineering polymer. Angus is very at home with the technology practiced in our new laboratories and is also focused on the innovation carried out with our customers on their shop floors.’

Angus’s role at Dugdale will involve a period of training and mentoring at the company before taking the lead on both customer facing projects and developments of his own.

He says that ‘it is great to be working for a business with such a respected name as Dugdale, and be given a chance to work with such a wide variety of customers in different product sectors in order to make materials innovation and new products a reality. Already I am seeing that the key Dugdale differentiator is the close working relationship with the customer -  and that will be my focus in the coming months.’

Outside of work, Angus has been playing rugby union since the age of five and covers most playing positions in the halfbacks and three quarter line.  He also enjoys winter sports particularly skiing and snowboarding.
