His white paper, ‘Phthalates – Questions and Answers’, explains what phthalates are, where they are used and discusses why users are apprehensive about them. It makes clear that phthalates are not banned and can be used in certain applications - at the moment. Questions raised by current European Directives, including REACH, are also aired and answers cover the cost and efficiency issues raised by using phthalate-free and alternative plasticisers.
